Retiree Chapter Membership Meeting/Luncheon
On April 30, CSA's Retiree Chapter held its annual membership meeting and luncheon at Towers On The Green in Floral Park. More than 230 retired school leaders attended. Remarks from Mark Brodsky, Retiree Chapter Director, and Neil Lefkowitz, Retiree Chapter Chair, kicked off the meeting. City Councilman Ruben Wills and Assemblyman Ed Braunstein greeted constituents and thanked them for their support during the last election.
Sherri Tabachnick, who recently retired, was honored for serving 28 years as Assistant Administrator for the Welfare Fund. Welfare Fund Administrator Douglas Hathaway updated members about health benefits and services. Professor Jean Arrington led a presentation about NYC Schools Superintendent Charles B.J. Snyder, who designed hundreds of our school buildings at the turn of the last century.
Retirees than enjoyed a three-course lunch as they were serenaded by the Red Bank Barbershop Quartet. Raffle winners walked away with prizes including a color Nook and designer sunglasses.
